A soothing non-caffeinated herbal tea with a base of Japanese variety red shiso leaves locally grown & dried in house, mixed with the ginger and citrus rinds that have soaked in our various shrubs. There is a slight sweetness and acidity from the shrub syrup fruits that contribute to the taste and color, pairing nicely with the mild minty quality of the red shiso tea.
Red shiso is known to have many medicinal benefits such as; strengthening the immune system, antioxidants that promote healthy skin, and anti-inflammatory & allergy fighting properties.
Direction for brewing tea: Add 1 heaping tablespoon of the tea to 1 1/2 cup boiling water. Cover and steep for 10-15 minutes. Strain & enjoy. Lemon slice is a nice addition to serve with this tea, as it brings out the vibrant red color of the shiso with it's acidity.
