Mild Chai Tea
As our Serendipity Collection is in the spirit of the Japanese ethos of not wasting anything, leftover ginger roots from our shrubs became the inspiration for a new tea blend. Citrus rinds from fruit shrubs round out the flavor. Unlike many chai mixes out there, this blend offers a lighter touch of ginger and cinnamon. The harmonious and mild blend of spices meets the quick-brewing strong Assam tea, with an end result of pleasantly spiced tea with mild caffeine that you can enjoy any time of day.
Directions for brewing: In a small saucepan, add 2 teaspoons chai blend to 1 cup cold water, and bring to a boil. Turn off heat, steep for 1 minute. Then add 1/2 cup milk and turn the heat back on to warm gently. Strain and add sugar to taste. Makes two servings.
